Matt Knott

President & Interim CEO, Builders Vision

Matt Knott serves as President & Interim CEO of Builders Vision. In his role, he leads the organization’s day-to-day work, investing innovative capital in sustainable solutions and pursuing market opportunities to build a more resilient future. Matt is responsible for working with the Executive Chairman and Leadership Team to determine strategic direction and overall allocation of resources. He oversees all aspects of Builders Vision's work, including strategy, operations and performance management. Under his leadership, Builders Vision has created a strong and inclusive culture and has consistently been named a Best Place to Work by Crain’s Chicago Business.

Prior to being named interim-CEO in 2026, Matt spent six years as President & Chief Operating Officer. In that capacity, he helped to design and develop the organization from its inception, putting the people, processes and systems in place to carry out our mission, directing core functions including planning, human resources, finance and accounting, information technology, communications and office administration.

Before joining Builders Vision, Matt served as President of Feeding America, the nation’s leading hunger relief organization and second largest charity in the U.S. There, he worked to scale and transform the national network of food banks to provide more fresh and nutritious food to communities in need. Matt also spent over a decade with PepsiCo, where he was Vice President of Marketing for Gatorade. His time with PepsiCo also included brand management and financial planning stints with Tropicana, Quaker Oats and Propel Fitness Water. He began his career with Arthur Andersen as a financial consultant.

Matt earned his master’s degree in management from the Kellogg Graduate School at Northwestern University and has an undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame. A longtime Chicagoan, Matt and his wife Agnes now live in the Northwest suburbs, where they raised their four children. Having spent much of his career working in the food industry and on hunger relief, Matt believes everyone should have access to affordable, nutritious food -- an essential building block to a better life.
