General Counsel & Interim Chief Strategy Officer, Builders Vision
As General Counsel and Interim Chief Strategy Officer at Builders Vision, Lisa Forbes oversees the organization’s strategic initiatives, innovation capabilities and legal affairs. In her dual role, she bridges strategy and execution, driving innovation across the organization and helping teams translate creative ideas into solutions that catalyze markets to build a more resilient future. She also oversees all organization-wide legal risk, ensuring the organization can effectively deploy its capital to catalyze markets and build a more resilient future.
Lisa has been with Builders Vision since 2019. One of its first employees, she played a key role in shaping the organization’s mission, vision and strong, inclusive culture, and in building and leading its legal team. Lisa brings a wealth of diverse expertise from the finance and technology sectors. Prior to joining Builders Vision, Lisa served as Senior Corporate Counsel for Uptake Technologies, a start-up focused on predictive analytics and machine learning. Her extensive background in investment management includes leadership roles as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Sheffield Asset Management and Managing Director and Deputy General Counsel at Deerfield Capital Management. Lisa began her legal career as a corporate associate with Skadden. Beyond her executive responsibilities, Lisa is an active community leader, serving on the boards of the Builders Vision Foundation, Equal Hope, and Communities in Schools of Chicago. She is a graduate of Harvard Law School and earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science from Indiana University.
In her personal time, Lisa enjoys skiing, open water swimming, and spending time with her family.
